When you use up a resource it is recored in what element on a blance sheet?
There are three elements in a balance sheet – Assets, liabilities, and owners’ equity. Assets are all sorts of resources which give future benefits; like plant and machinery, cash, accounts receivable, etc.
A balance sheet must satisfy the following equation:
Assets = Liabilities + Owners’ equity
If a resource is used up it should be considered as an asset.
Suppose cash is used to purchase machinery; therefore, the amount should be subtracted from cash and should be added under plant and machinery; it indicates recording in the assets side.
