Answer #1

1) algae are found in the water, bryophytes are land plants but they do not have a proper vascular system, ferns have a vascular system, gymnosperms evolved seeds and angiosperms are flowering plants ( each character are peculiar features of the taxa).

Cactus and palm trees are angiosperms, slime molds are protozoans, ferns are pteridophytes, they lack seeds so the answer is A) ferns.

2) angiosperms are flowering plants,

invertebrates are animals without vertebral column, protists are single-celled unicellular eukaryotes, gametes are haploid cells produced for reproduction.

so the answer is D) flowering plants.

3) gymnosperms are seeded plants, so the trait evolved from ancestors to gymnosperms is the seeds so the answer is A) seeds.

in Gymnosperms the seeds are not covered so the fruits are not found in the gymnosperms

4) plants have chlorophyll they use the energy of sunlight to fix carbon, so they are photoautotrophs.

heterotrophs depend on other organisms for carbon and energy so the answer is D) autotrophs.
