What kind of research would we need to do in order to figure this out?

The interview should be conducted amongst the middle level and top-level HR employees so as to gauge the reasons as to why the immigrants are preferred employees when compared to the citizens.

Also, an in-depth comparative survey can be conducted on the performance of the immigrants vis-a-vis the performance of the citizens.

Post collection of data, factor analysis can be conducted so as to come to the exact factors that affect the job industry while hiring and retaining employees.
