answer-
i totally agree with the point part that many of our group skills and leaderships skills can be improved by playing sports because i think that team is the one which plays for common objectives which helps to make a group into an effective team when they share a common objectives. i agree with point part because counter part is not effective to describe why we should oppose team as learning for group activity while point part completely and clearly describe why sports team is good example to understand leadership and group skills as working in teams. like in points part, there is a person Susie wee who writes her own experience in which she was first bench warmer then grows slowly as team leader and sports player because a person has to experience both side means a member of group should learn how to follow as well as how to lead which can be see in sports team because we can that many players who started to play new became leaders or captains of that same sports team in future.
this shows how working in sports team improve your leadership and group skills which would help you in your future career like Susie Wee said in the point section.

Deviance at IDEO All groups, whether top management teams, self-managed work teams, or command groups, need to control their members' behaviors to ensure that the group performs at a high level and meets its goals. Closing Case 1 Football Teams Use Virtual Reality The Problem College and professional football teams have a unique set of problems. First and foremost, teams would like to reduce the physical wear and tear of drills and practices on their players. In the National Football League (NFL), the most recent Collective Bargaining Agreement (2011) reduced the number of off-season practices, prohibited training camp “two-a-day” practices, and limited the number of contact practices in both the preseason and the regular season....
A pain is spreading down my arm. Twenty of us, seated in ten rows, two to a bench, are paddling furiously aboard a 40 ft dragon boat. It is a disconcerting, not to mention exhausting, experience. As we plough down the Thames in London’s Royal Albert Dock, we take orders from a helmsman and keep time to a drum. It’s almost as if we’re slaves in a galley, except we’re supposed to be doing this for fun. I’m racing with...

FROM THE JUNE 2012 ISSUE of hbr If your company is like practically every company I’ve known, it’s been working for years to add diversity to its leadership ranks. Why doesn’t it have more to show for its efforts? I don’t doubt that your managers sincerely want to reshape the talent pipeline. My exposure to countless diversity initiatives suggests that you’re tripping yourself up in four ways. You’ve distributed the responsibility for increasing diversity. It’s standard: You probably have a...

Exercising too little control can raise employee stress and breed organizational chaos. And not only must managers work to achieve a healthy level of control but they must also strive to set controls around the right targets.
