Light source for a microscope can be any window from which sunlight is entering ( and similar setup), the light is reflected from sources to condenser len via mirror.

But these days microscope are having inbulid light source in form of bulb( in most cases tungsten- halogen bulb) and light intensity can be controlled accordingly.
