Today's children are spending their maximum time in either watching television or playing video games. In both the mediums, there is extensive aggression and violence. It is an important developmental issue. During childhood, the time when a child is in the most vulnerable state and is learning things, if he is exposed to visuals which are distracting, aggressive and full of violence he will capture them and try to imitate them. Such children tend to become aggressive in their behavior. They are harsh and rude with people outside. This also have severe impact on their cognitive development. There are many theories which explain the psychological process. There are multiple theories on child development which proposes many theories with help of which such difficult children can also be taken care of.
This problem can be resolved by spending time with children and helping them differentiate between the virtual and real scenario. They need to be explained on what TV and video games show are not the reality. They are for entertainment, for fun. These must not be treated as true and get influenced by it.
