When designing PLC-based process control systems, what are the differences between {1/0, On/Off, Close/Open, High/Low} and {True/False}?

The PLC is a digital equipment which operates on the basis of binary principle. Binary principle is an idea. According to this idea, we consider that the things exist in one of two states. These states are defined as "high/low", or "on/off", "1/0", "open/close", "yes/no" etc.

For instance a LED can be ON or OFF, but it can't be OPEN or CLOSE. A Switch can be OPEN or CLOSED, A induction motor can be RUNNING or STOPPED, or the output of logic gates can be 1 or 0.
