Describe characteristics within abusive populations. What are the challenges for the generalist practitioner when working with violent or abusive individuals? Which population would you prefer to work with: juveniles or adult offenders, or the survivors of assault or domestic violence? What do you hope to accomplish?

The Characteristics of abusive populations while working with them as a practitioner is that they are highly volatile and can hold information from being given out. Also , it can be seen how different Individuals are more likely to have varying levels of tolerance for interrogation and accepting treatment. Many of the abusers would be skeptical to getting help or recieving treatment and thus can be difficult to deal with in many if the critical cases. They are also likely to dislike probing and must be treated with adequate acknowledgement and consent as well. The population which I personally prefer working with includes juvenile offenders as most of them can be seen to be affected by their circumstances to offend. This provides insight into their environment and also their families if present , thus providing information about more than one case. As a result, one can accomplish the task of helping the child as well as the family/caregiver and identifying the stressors to prevent vulnerable groups from being exposed to these commonly occuring stressors. It helps in ensuring proper guidance and preventing relapse.
