These preoccupations emerge from the previous experiences of life, formal or informal learning from the society, academics and family, personal value system and other situational factors. Diversity management and ethical reporting system of the organisation serves the purpose of facilitating unlearning of such attitudes and beliefs which hinder the acceptance, tolerance and sensitivity towards diversity, and ensure that such differentiating attitude are neutralised so as to make the workplace benefitting from diverse nature of human resources.
Being prejudged and remaining as that, is dangerous to the organisation, and should be addressed by the managers as early as possible. The approaches are to talk to the employees about the issue in private, conducting group counselling, creating diversity managment plans and conducting cultural sensitivity trainings. I would say that it is natural for the humans to be different and that difference needs to be taken and perceived as they are. Understanding this, would make us more tolerant, accepting and accomodating towards differences and would help us to contribute positively to the organisation's culture and overall environment.
