Answer #1

A mixture of sucrose and sand is a heterogeneous mixture. We say that because both the components are not of same composition throughout and in mixture they look non uniform.

We can separate sand and sucrose by simply adding water in the mixture. As we all know, sugar will get dissolve in water and sand will settle down(as it has more density than water).

Then filter the mixture and evaporate the water. We will get sugar and sand separately.
