Discussion: Resistance to change is a normal everyday aspect in the workplace. Note what happens to the organizational climate when this resistance occurs and any tactics to reduce negative connotations when dealing with change.

As external environment changes continuously, organizations too needs to change its strategy and internal environment to cope up with the outside market. It is very difficult to understand how employees of an organization would react with the changes in the organization. They may give positive response or negative response throughout the changes.

The changing in the organizational climate may includes the usual steps such as planning, implementation, monitoring and review. Regular changes in an organization is very healthy as it would lead to the success. Besides, technology, market, operations, etc. would increase when a company changes it's strategy often. This way, an organization would be dynamic and adaptable.

The resistance of changes occur when employees don't feel like changing their usual routine or job duty or don't like to change their surroundings. This resistance lead to a major barrier in the change implementation process. Employees may also fear of new change. But, if the changes occur, it can have many positive effects such as it can make a company more profitable and flexible in the market.

There are indeed various tactics to reduce negative connotations such as management may make the employees understand regarding the actual need for the change and the benefit they may get after the changes occured. This way they may feel interested. Besides managers may provide rewards to the employees if they show great support throughout the change implementation journey. As employees fear for the change, all they need is some assurance from the company because negativity after the change implementation, may lead to have employee turnover.
