Answer #1

All system in a network somehow have to share or have to access the information from one system to another that can be achieved by two model client or repository model.

Repository Model

1. Definition of repository states that it is a centralised storage where all systems can access the information easily and with consistency.

2. Repository Model is used when we have to deal with large amount data accessing by the systems in the network like for example linux repositories. All around the world linux users have to download the application or files or have to update the os from linux repositories.

3. These repositories will distribute the data uniformly throughout the network.

4. Repository Model can also be called as a centralised system where all system only communicate with that centralised system(No need to communicate with other systems).

5. Any difference(Means in architecture or compatibility with the centralized system or schema)in the sub system in the network may cause that system not able to communicate with the centralised system.

6. Easy to Maintain or update(When an update is done on the repository Then no need to update in every system).

7. Converting it to different model is a difficult task.

8. When Problem in the centralised system may lead to shutDown .Causing lot of damage in terms of time and data.

Client Server Model

1. Services are provided to the client in such a way that these services are divided among different servers.

2. Client will request the resources / services form the service providers.

Client Will have a picture of the services that are being provided by one server but in the back it is and integration of many servers.

3. Many clients can run simultaneously of instances of the services with ease.

4. A good example for client server model can be bus booking . Where payment is done by one service provider and seat booking is done by another service provider and it goes on. Your Tracking of the bus can be provided by another service provider etc.

5. Another example is www where different services are hosted by different servers .

Implement your first Networking application that uses the Client-Server model. Using Python and either TCP or UDP Protocol, the application should do the following: 1. Client reads a line of characters (data) from its keyboard and sends data to server 2. Server receives the data and converts characters to uppercase 3. Server sends modified data to client 4. Client receives modified data and displays line on its screen

A Client-server is an Architecture that performs both the functions of client and server to promote the sharing of information between them. It allows many users to have access to the same information at the same time. The Internet is based on the client/server architecture, which is the most widely used system architecture. Another system architecture called the peer-to-peer architecture can be used on a LAN. Research peer-to-peer architecture and compare it with client/server architecture. Share examples along with positives and negatives for the uses of either architecture or how it can affect outcomes or results from the infrastructure.
