Ans1) The cardiac output is the amount of blood which the heart pumps in a minute through the whole of the circulatory system. In case of the endurance athlete, the cardiac output will be more as the heart pumping will increase due to requirement of increased energy. The cardiac output of an endurance athlete will be around 5 to 6 L/min when at rest and when at maximum intensity workout, it is around 40L/min. The cardiac output of a sedentary person would be around 20L/min and it tends to increase by around 50% when they involve in endurance training. The average heart rate of an sedentary person is around 66 to 72 beats per minute and for endurance athlete it is around 40bpm. When it comes to stroke volume of the person it is around 120bpm but in case of trained endurance it is higher than 150bpm due to the increase in their heart rate.
