Discharge velocity = seepage velocity x porosity.

that is

using the formulae:

For further understanding, discharge velocity the velocity of the flow when total cross section is considered for flow velocity calculation (darcy's law). But seepage velocity is the actual velocity of water and is calculated by considering total voids(actual area) available for flow of water.
