Answer #1

The primary reason for the trade war with China is the tussle between the two powers- the USA and China for global dominance. While the USA is the world leader and enjoys great power, China has been steadfastly challenging that power with high growth of its own. This trade war was the result of this silent challenge being posed by China which the USA sees as a threat that could end its global dominance.

China doesn't allow US companies to enter its market as it seeks to promote its products and services. For every American service or product, China has made a replica for its people to use. From having its versions of social media sites like Facebook to having search engines substitute for google, China has created its products for its people.

This also helps the Chinese government to monitor its users' activity over the internet.

I believe that Donald Trump is correct in initiating the war with China over the issue. When the Chinese government is adamant about not allowing the US companies to enter its territory for its gains, the USA should also serve its national interests and boycott Chinese products at the least. The fear of losing important markets can urge China to open its markets for foreign firms.
