Situation:

This was when we going for trek and weather suddenly became dangerous in the evening. In a 13 km steep trek, we already covered 10 km throughout the day. I tried to keep them motivated to reach the top but after seeing a small landslide, my friends panicked and said that we should go back to the base rather than going to the camps at the top.

Management and convincing:

I first asked them to walk until we find a safe pit stop to decide, during the journey to the next pit stop I tried telling them the benefits of keep going, and I emphasized heavily on the fact that we are already 10 km into the treck, and it is evening, so going back 10 km will not be possible in dark. Wherein we can push ourselves and complete the remaining 3 km in the light and reach the top.
After a few discussions, they were convinced and indeed we reached the top before night.
