What does a lower kinetic coefficient mean compared to a higher one? Does a higher one just require less friction force to move it? ( pulley system lab where there are two masses and its at constant velocity )

friction is a resistive force acting in the direction apposite to that of motion.

The coefficient is ratio of frictional force to the normal force and has value less than 1.

The lower the kinetic coefficient means, less resistance to the motion of the object on a particular surface and higher means more resistance to the motion.

Since, Ff = uk N

the higher the coefficient, the more will be the frictional force and more work/force will be required for causing movement of the object against it.
