a. Developing criteria : Here the hiring person needs to develop a criteria for interviewing, weighting candidates, reviewing resumes etc so that the right candidate can be selected for the job. Job analysis and job specification must be considered while developing the criteria so that the candidate who is culturally and personality fit is selected. Like for example, Developing the interview questions which will judge the skills, knowledge, interest of the candidate is necessary.
b. Review : In this step the application and resume of the candidate is reviewed so only the candidates who are matching the job roles are called for the interview and further selection process. Like for example hiring manager can use the specific keywords to search the resume that matches the job position.
c. Interview : When the candidate meets the set criteria they are called in for interview, these can start with the phone interviews while the shortlisted candidates are called for the personal interviews.
d. Tests : Before selecting a candidate they need to go through various tests such as drug test, personality test, reference checks, background check etc. These tests are necessary for narrowing the procedure and eliminating any further issues.
e. Offer : Once the candidate goes through all the above tests they are finally offered a job it can be through the email offer or offer letter in order to join the organization, candidate need to accept the offer.
