1. You are a botanist on a mission from New York Botanical Garden to the Amazon Forest. You discover some new plants and you want to characterize them, mention in bullet points the steps you you will take to characterize them.
Okay so i am providing you a diagram that shows the classification of plants-
Based on this classification, the characterization occurs by following steps-
1. Whether the plant is vascular or not.
2. Whether it produces seeds or not.
3. Then the leaves are observed, their shape, size, and other surface features. The arrangement of leaves is characterized.
4. Bark and trunk are observed next which includes the texture and color.
5. Next flowers, berries and cones are identified.
6. Finallyly the DNA analysis is done to be 100% sure.
This is how a newly found plant is characterized.
