How is a wi-fi thermostat different from a regular low-voltage thermostat?
Wifi thermostate:
Basically a thermostat is nothing but is a device that regulates the temperature in our house. Wifi thermostat is is a thermostat that connects to the home wireless internet connection. So we can monitor the temperature inside and can manage it using apps. The advantage is that they automatically control the room temperature. But it can be hacked since connected to network so the hackers can access all the devices in home.
Low voltage thermostate:
It is just like the air conditioner or heater that is direct wired. Low voltage in the sense they operate at low voltages like 30 volts. They use less power compared to line voltage thermostats which basically operates at 120 volts. So these low voltage thermostats are so popular. Its installation is difficult because it needs more wire to install.

A recent high-profile attack was started as a result of a homeowner’s Wi-Fi network not being secured. This has prompted the local neighborhood association to take steps to inform its residents about the dangers of unprotected wireless networks and how to secure them. They would like me to use easy technology so that the older residents would understand. I need at least eight examples that lists the dangers of an unprotected Wi-Fi network and what are the steps to be...

You connect your laptop computer to a public, open Wi-Fi network and decide to check the connection. You open a command window on your laptop, run an “ipconfig” command, and find that the Wi-Fi DHCP service has assigned the following IP address and subnet mask to your computer: 10.52.81.183 255.255.252.0 (Hint: use a subnet worksheet from Week 5 as scratch paper to help you answer this. Note that this mask is subnetting in the third octet.) a. What is the...
