Dear student,
I'm a software professional working remotely. I will tell you how my company provides remote access.
My company uses fortinet to secure the connection between employee system and company system.
fortinet is a VPN software used by companies to provide remote access to employees
Company provides user credentials to the employee to connect to company's network using fortiClient application.
once the employee connects through forticlient to company's network. the employee's computer becomes part of the company's network and now he can access any any PC in the network using remote desktop connection.
this is how my company provide remote connection to employees
Now let us talk about the compromises made by the company.
1) any malware or virus can be planted into PCs at company network from employee machine but then the installation of virus requires admin rights.
2) Source code of project can be copied easily to protect this company ask its employees to sign agreement the legal action can be taken against them if found to be doing so.
