Dealing with resistance because habits are threatened-Show personnel the Personal advantage-

One of the initial reactions amongst the staff members to a declaration of change is concern over how the change will impact their work situation / job. Common queries that can lead to resistance are-

  • Will my job stay the same? In what way will it change?
  • Will I have new managers / have to work with new persons?
  • Will my pay package change?
  • Will I have to learn new competencies?

Even if the change you are executing aids grow the business, give new prospects for employees, & be a good all-inclusive move, recognize that your staffers will be focused initially on how the change impacts them personally. Focus on this actual concern & address it as truthfully as possible as a way to solve resistance

Dealing with resistance because of fear of the failure-Provide the required training-

Employees are usually fearful about a change initiative because they aren’t sure that they’ll be able to perform as nicely as they have done earlier. Their fear may be reasonable (as they realize a missing competency that they don’t possess) or it may be unreasonable (a baseless emotional reaction stemming from their apprehension surrounding the change).

Whatever their fear’s source, it will aid if you give training & development opportunities for your work group. This will provide them the confidence they require to execute the needed change.
