Reflect on the reading about power. Researchers argue that one of the reasons some people have power over others is that individuals are so quick to conform. Several classic studies, including the Asch Studies, help to illustrate this idea. Study the Asch Studies, and think about the "real-life" implications. Then study the modern conformity experiment, and think about the "real-life" implications of this experiment.

1. In your opinion, how can an awareness of this information help you in the workplace? Explain and discuss.
2. One could argue that these are just silly experiments taking place in a somewhat controlled setting but that such conformity would not take place in the real world. In your opinion, do you agree or disagree? Why? Explain and discuss.

The awareness of this information related to power to influence and conformity to accept help me in the workplace to be on the good side so that i can not be problems . for example- if i know that by conforming to my Manager's views and opinions i would get chance to promotion then why would i dis conform to that.

In the real world, workplace is the place where politics and power still in play. we can find group of employees like group of senior executives teasing, using junior employees for the work done which is not in their job description but still they do because they do not want to get fired or left out at workplace.

I disagree that conformity does not take place in the real world. Conformity depend on power of person and other people who has submissive personality to accept the power and ready to conform. for example- we see in school that lean and weak students in class submit and conform to big fat bullies.another example- we see a person who was businessman but now a president has the power so we did not conform to views of the person when he was businessman but when he becomes president then he lead the country and people started to agree with that person.

in real world, we see example of Sorority where most famous girl in sorority make other new female student to do things like washing , cleaning house, doing their home work etc because those new girls want to fit in.
