Answer #1

Absolutism is the concept of following universally accepted moral norms and values like equality, justice, fair trading, human conditions and human rights at work and prohibiting child labour.

There are certain values which are universally accepted as moral code of conduct in business and ethics to be practised in business transactions like honesty, integrity and justice. At the same time, there are differences in cultures across the world which define different moral norms and values for example denouncing violence against animals while it may not be criticised in other cultures. Similarly, some cultures do not maintain hierarchy and practice equality while some countries have cultures which are based on authority and hierarchy.

It is important in global businesses to have an understanding of universal moral values and ethics in business as well as relativism . Developing tolerance for any cultural differences and values belonging to a particular group or nation can be helpful in balancing absolutism and relativism. Organisations should not let such differences adversely impact business or judge relativistic cultural values as wrong. It is subjective to a particular society and should be accepted as part of diversity in global culture as long as it is not having any negative consequences to business or hurting sentiments of the consumers of the organisation. The organisations can develop a common code of conduct and clarity of each other's cultures, beliefs and norms so that there are no conflicts in practicing their values and beliefs and cultural differences are acknowledged and accepted.
