Blended cement has various advantages ove normal OPC cement :

* More workable than OPC as water consumption is less

* More resistant to sulphate attack and alkali aggregate reaction

* Improved resistance against freeze thaw cycles

* Significant control on bleeding and segregation

* Lower creep and shrinkage than OPC

* Less heat of hydration, so advantageous in hot weather concrete and in mass concreting

* 28days strength is significantly more than OPC
