Answer #1
  • Employees form the backbone of any organization and therefore having a perfect person-job fit is extremely important. When organizations hire employees they always look for people who not only have the right qualifications but also a personality and attitude that matches with the ideology of the organization.
  • Finding the right candidate is not an easy process and therefore people like us,i.e organizational psychologists play an important role in the selection process.Psychometric assessments have become a necessity for every organization to be used as measure to assess a candidate's personality and aptitude not only for the job but also for understanding organization's goals.
  • Just by having certificates and educational qualifications one cannot fit into an organization, but having commitment towards making contributions towards goals of the organizations is required to perfectly fit in.
  • For example,a person being selected for a sales job, will not only be selected on the basis of necessary qualification but also having the necessary personality traits,i.e extroversion, interpersonal skills, learner's attitude etc.A complete pacakge of skills, traits and qualifications is necessary to have a person job fit.
  • Someone who is selected in a sales job just on the basis of qualifications but doesnt have the necessary traits and presence of mind to handle difficult sales task, would be a liability for the organization, which is why having an organizational psychologist is important to make this process easy and select the right people.
