Yes, there is a need for the company to use proprietary motherboard form factor because the proprietary motherboard enables the company to create certain system which are more generic ones and enables the customer to get services from the manufacturer. Moreover, the proprietary motherboard cost a large amount and even the components are not readily available. So, proprietary form factor will be a wise decision to go for rather than going for standard one.
