Answer #1

1. Increased risk of allergies or food intolerance.

*GMO foods studied in animals have found organ impacts in virtually every circumstance.

*Genetic modifications in food leads to increased trend of food allergies and digestive intolerance in humans.

*If plants could produce chemicals against pesticides to kill them, they could also toxic to other organisms consuming them.

2. Animal proteins could be affected by GMO crops.

When GM crops are fed to livestock, aquaculture, and apiculture, has major impacts on groceries that are based on animal proteins. GMO ingredients can be found in milk, seafood, eggs, and animal muscle tissues. Even honey can have GMO ingredients when bees are pollinating genetically modified crops to produce it.

3. Many GMO crops are trademarked, patented, and legally protected.
Farmers that grow GMO crops may be required to sign an agreement to exclusively grow a specific product. They may be asked to take steps that protect the crops being grown from contamination. Farmers that don’t take these steps could be taken to court because of breeching that contract. Some companies have even sued farmers who have patented crops growing in their fields because of natural pollination or distribution patterns, despite the fact that no seeds were ever planted by them. This is in turn putting the farmers into trouble since not all could have access to this due to financial crisis.

4. GM crops can pave way for development of drug resistant or pesticide resistant varieties of bacteria, insects and other pests.

Due to continuous exposure of a particular chemical that act as pesticide, the susceptible organism now turns out to be genetically resistant against the pesticide. These can be referred to as super bugs, super weeds and the antibiotic resistant bacteria.
