After reading Nic Eth IV:7: What can you say about the virtue of "truthfulness"? What is it, and why is it a virtue? (Bear in mind that it is not the virtue of honesty — that virtue doesn't appear in Aristotle's list at all.) (Don't say: because it is moderate. Go deeper.)

Answer #1

Truthfulness is the biggest virtues of all. Truthfulness means a person that always speaks the truth and never lies. It is a difficult path as sometimes telling truth can ruin your relationships, your reputation and add a bad label to you. But ultimately it helps you to succeed because once you stick around it initially you face problems but at least it is better to say hundreds of lie to hide just one truth. Finally, you feel light and people also feel later that what you did was right and sometimes if you accept your mistake by telling the truth people forgive you and accept the way you are.

It is a virtue as the habit makes you a person of your words as people around you eventually perceives you that whatever you say is true and you become highly dependable one. People respect you for what you are and you are generally not bad-mouthed and respected by others.
