chloroplast is present only in plant cell and few other photoautotrophic organisms.

main role of chloroplast is to harvest light energy and convert it into chemical energy i.e. produce simple sugars.

so that chloroplast is mainly and abundantly present in tissues which are well exposed to light.

animal cell do not contain chloroplast.
