Explain why a country’s unfavorable geography may be correlared with worse development outcomes today.
Countries have a strong correlation in terms of unfavourable geography and development. A common example of this would be a country surrounded by mountains or in other words a very hard place to reach, therefore limiting the transfer of goods to and from the place. A place like tibet for example which is secluded would have been economically better of in for example central Europe as it would make it easier to reach as well as enable the transfer of goods and services at a much better rate. This would enable development as people will look for habitation, companies will come in, industries will come up. But if the country is not at all or easily accessible it will put a limit to how much a country can grow. Free flowing trade is extremely important for development.
