Common Sales Job Types

Sales development rep (SDR) - (SDR) is a type of inside sales rep that solely focuses on outbound prospecting. Many companies (such as Salesforce) have experienced massive revenue growth by separating sales organizations into specific roles.

Account Executive (AE) - act as an important link between an advertising agency and its clients. In this sales job, you'll be striving to understand your client's goals, and then organise the agency's creative and administrative staff to help them produce effective campaigns.

Outside Salesperson.- An outside salesperson spends most of their time “in the field,” or visiting potential customers at their offices. You’ll be moving around constantly: Around the city, region, state, country, or even world.

Account Manager. - An account manager is a person who works for a company and is responsible for the management of sales and relationships with particular customers.

Regional Sales Manager. - . A Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of a business' products or services in a specified region or geographical area.

Sales Engineer - a salesperson with technical knowledge of the goods and their market.

Director of Sales.- Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results. ... Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.

VP of Sales.- The main responsibilities of a Vice President of Sales are to lead a sales team and direct the team or department into meeting and exceeding sales revenues, sales profitability and budgetary objectives.
