Ans: Addition of poly-A tail

A transposable element is defined as short sequences of DNA which are able to relocate from one location to the other within a genome and are able to create duplicate copies of themselves. They are also called as mobile DNA elements, jumping genes, insertion sequences etc. Transposition is the process by which these jumping gene sequences are copied and inserted into a new site of the genome.

Addition of poly- A tail is a process of eukaryotic mRNA modification system where a series of 250 adenosine residues are added at the 3' end of the pre-mRNA molecule with the help of the enzyme poly-A polymerase. Addition of poly- A tail helps the mature mRNA to export from the nucleus to cytoplasm for translation, helps in translation process and increases the overall stability of the mRNA. It doesn't have any mechanism to suppress the spread of transposable elements.
