Ans: e) Selection- Selection usually promotes those individuals who are only best adapted to the environment living in a particular area to survive and reproduce its offspring. Genetic variation arises as a result of mutation, recombination, random mating and random fertilization. Assortative mating and immigration of genes has also been studied to result in an increase in additive genetic variance.
