The topic below is one that I have to debate on "to AGREE" with the Moot. I would have to do a power point presentation. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. MOOT/STATEMENT: “Society’s acceptance of contemporary norms is responsible for the increase in youth crimes across the region.”

Society’s acceptance of contemporary norms is responsible for the increase in youth crimes across the region.I profoundly agree with this statement. The contemporary norms have always been a misfit in the modern times because the changing times also brings along changing needs of the people and the society also. Age old norms need to be pushed back for the current times to match with the thought process of the generation today. Earlier parents showed traces of violence at home, did not open up completely with them which led to a lot of communication gap between the parents and kids. But if this is practiced in the modern times also then it will lead to children not opening up about their life to the parents and taking refuge in the outside sources that might misguide them. Also peer pressure is very common in children and the youth which often puts them in undue pressure where they cannot escape from easily. The society is to be blamed for this feeling. They are the ones who continue with these age old norms with the current generation who are a source of rebel and revolution of thoughts for these old norms and rituals. The need of the hour is to change old beliefs to have a modern touch on them  in order to fit well in the society.
