Answer #1

UGG (tryptophan is encoded by only this single codon)

You have to use genetic code to answer this question.

UGC, UGU - cysteine

UAG, UAA - stop

AGA, AGG - arginine

Note

A codon is a set of 3 nitrogenous bases which is present on messenger RNA. An anticodon is also a set offscreen nitrogenous bases which are present on transfer RNA. Both codon and anticodon are complementary to each other. When they interact, one amino acid is added to the peptide chain.

The template strand of a given gene includes the sequence 3'-GCCACGTATCAG-5'. For each one, be sure to indicate 5' and 3' ends (DNA & RNA) and N and C termini (polypeptide). What is the sequence of the nontemplate strand (a), mRNA sequence made (b) and polypeptide made (c)?
