Answer #1

The intensity of any earthquake and the ground movement are related to each other logarithmically and therefore 1 unit increase in the intensity of the earthquake cause 10 times increase in the ground movement. Hence

Intensity 3 earthquake is produce 10 times more ground movement than intensity 2 earthquake.

Similarly intensity 4 will produce 10 x 10 = 100 times more ground movement than intensity 2 earthquake.

And intensity 5 will produce 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000 times more ground movement than intensity 2 earthquake.

The correct option is first option that’s 1,000 times more.
