Asian Americans form a greatest diaspora in United States since they come from various countries, cultures, languages and religions. This makes them very unique and their collective culture prevents them from assimilating easily with the larger group. However, the present generation has no problem in identifying themselves with the American culture while at the same time practicing their own culture at home. The problem is that because people are from different walks of life, it becomes very difficult for them to identify as one single unit. So, their effort to unite as Asian Americans s not successful as their individual differences back home prevents them from coming together and they treat each other as competitors.
