Should intellectual property be considered human rights? Why or why not? please write at least 150 words explaining
Intellectual property should be considered human rights because a particular individual spends a large amount of time, resources and intellectual to create a product which needs to be respected. All the products that are created using one’s own intellectual and research abilities in order to develop something new which the person registers under copy rights protection. This would mean such a product should be bought for a price unless the person who developed it permits others to use it without any payments. Whatever one creates, one has the rights to it just like one has the power and rights over one’s physical body. So, stealing or using it without prior permission should be declared unethical and unlawful thus should land a penalty in order to prevent future violations. If a person work for a company, then the company will have the copy rights and not the person who develops it as per the contract.
