Answer #1

The increase in ventilation which is also known as hyperpnea, observed during exercise is believed to be caused by feed-forward input from the central command and feedback pathways from the muscle afferent mechanoreceptors and peripheral and central chemoreceptors. While high intensity exercises, the breathing increases beyond the proportion to the workload, that is seen as a hyperventilatory response, tagging the ventilation threshold of exercise.
