Which among A-D is false regarding most DNA virus infections and most non-retroviral RNA virus infections?...

Which among A-D is false regarding most DNA virus infections and most non-retroviral RNA virus infections?

A.

Once inside the host cell, RNA virus replication usually (though not always) occurs completely in the cytoplasm.

B.

The genome of DNA viruses generally must enter the nucleus of the host cell they infect.

C.

A (+) sense RNA strand produced by an RNA virus could serve as an mRNA and be directly translated into protein.

D.

DNA viruses typically are assembled in the nucleus of the host cell.

E.

None of A-D is false; all are true

Answer #1

+ strand RNA can be used as the mRNA, which is translated to produce protein.

DNA viruses have to enter the nucleus, to produce RNA from the DNA. ( transcription occurs in the nucleus only)

In RNA virus, replication can occur in the cytosol, viruses carry RNA dependent RNA polymerase, it can function in the cytosol, but f the virus is retrovirus it has to enter the nucleus, the DNA is produced from RNA using reverse transcriptase which is inserted into the host genome,

DNA viruses are typically assembled in the nucleus of the host cell, the DNA is replicated in the nucleus, a viral protein synthesized in the cytosol enters the nucleus and then viral DNA is coated to produce viral particles.

so all the statements are correct.

so the answer is E) None of A-D is false; all are true
