This week we've studied about organizational structure and change. The old adage "the only thing that's constant is change" rings true in business as well as personal life.

Please reflect on a time when organizational change had an impact on your job or personal life and consider how the concepts we studied in Chapter 2 were - or could have been - applied to make the change easier to accept and implement.

In your response, please (i) describe the circumstances and the change; (ii) explain the way that your job or personal life was affected by the change; and (iii) describe how the change was managed - either poorly or well done.

Next, review some of your colleague's responses and make one suggestion to them about the change that they described.

Your response should include complete sentences and use proper paragraphing. This is a graded assignment; please see the Discussion Rubric for information about the criteria applied for grading.

answer-

I worked in a Banking organization where most of the work was done in old outdated computer system and old transaction processing application which cause difficult situations in my organization. The problem like increase customer line and wait, transactions are processed very late , system were outdated so documentation and making financial statement was difficult. So after identifying this problem, the management of The Bank take the decision to implement new information system with customized transaction processing application which would increase efficiency and processing of work at Bank.

This change affect my job as well my personal life because the new system and application of Banking is more improved, faster that every transaction can be done quickly and customer wait line started to reduce. also we can use this application at home like uploading documents, statements, doing transactions, passing loans etc at home so i would able to finish my work fast and spend time with my family.

This change was not liked at first because most of the employees were used to the old system but after providing training and learning about new system by experts help them to realize that how new change benefit us including me.so by training and support of management helps in change management successfully.

The point is that regardless of the truth, our personal perceptions are usually the strongest factors influencing our actions and other thoughts and feelings. Often the difference between the truth and our perceptions can completely change the course of events that follow from what they would be if our perceptions were more...

Write a reflective paragraph summarizing your thoughts. Organizational change research has been criticized for neglecting the role of history in the study of change (Pettigrew et al., 2001). Much of the existing research tends to treat organizational change as “episodic” and comprising of independent events (Pettigrew, 1987, p. 655). More generally, research in organizational behavior has tended to ignore the theoretical and methodological significance of context in the examination of work attitudes and outcomes (Johns, 2006). In the studies reported...
