Where a person has to be a member of a union before he or she is hired, and this is illegal

In labor union law, a “closed shop” is where a person has to be a member of a union before he or she is hired, and this is illegal.

In other words, this is an agreement between the employer and the union members that employer will only higher the employees from the existing union members only. In the united states, this agreement of just hiring union members is an illegal practice and the government only allows the employer to hire employees only on the basis of their skills and ability.
