Answer #1

Ans : The oil with lesser viscosity index (oil brand A) has a lesser viscosity at -100C.

Explanation : We know that, Viscosity index is a number which denotes the change in viscosity of fluid with temperature. Lower the viscosity index, the more is the viscosity change with temperature. The oil with higher viscosity index shows a little variation in viscosity with temperature. So, oil with lower viscosity index has has lower viscosity compared to the oil with higher viscosity index. Therefore, at -100C the oil brand A with viscosity index of 100 has lower viscosity compared to the oil brand A with viscosity index of 220.

The time, t, it takes to pour aliquid from a container depends on several factors, including the kinematic viscosity, v, of the liquid. In some laboratory tests, various oils having the same density but different viscosities were poured at a fixed tipping rate from small 150-ml beakers. The time required to pour 100 ml of the oil was measured, and it was found that an approximate equation for the pouring time in seconds was t 1 + 9 x 10'...

Thermodynamics A 29-L electrical radiator containing heating oil is placed in a 41-m3 room. Both the room and the oil in the radiator are initially at 10°C. The radiator, with a rating of 1.8 kW, is now turned on. At the same time, heat is lost from the room at an average rate of 0.35 kJ/s. After some time, the average temperature is measured to be 20°C for the air in the room, and 50°C for the oil in the...
