There are two hormones that aids in the regulation of appetite. They are ghrelin & leptin, both are influenced by the sleep. Ghrelin is responsible for the stimulation of appetite whereas leptin reduces the appetite. When body doesn't get enough sleep, the ghrelin levels increases & leptin levels drops, which results in increased hunger. While sleeping, the levels of ghrelin drops & levels of leptin rises. Insufficient sleep can result in constant urge of hunger & an overall decline in the metabolism.

Obesogenic environments refers to the environments that stimulates individuals to consume foods that are unhealthy & not to perform sufficient exercises. An example for an obesogenic environment is a cinema theatre, where a large amount of calorie rich foods such as fried food, burgers, drinks with high sugar, candies etc are encouraged to consume.
