Answer #1

In my view, Jane should revert back to the billing department with all justification rather making changes as what requested to her. Based on the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Code of Ethics it enforces the values and principles to be followed by the healthcare professional. Jane should act with integrity and in trustworthy manner to the organization so as to promote higher standards of the practice. Jane should remain honest and showcase her responsibility by verifying the codes correctly and respond to the billing department appropriately. Jane should encourage compliance and take appropriate action against patient or insurer to raise violation.
