Scenario 2: PROBLEM PARENT: Fred is a former baseball player that played in the minor leagues. His daughter Amy is a member of your softball team. Scenario 2: PROBLEM PARENT:

As a coach it is your responsibility to ensure that all the players have faith in you. Thus in such a scenario, it is vital that you talk upfront with Fred, the parent and try to understand his point. Then, you can decide whether his suggestions are beneficial for the team or not. If they are beneficial, you must be open enough to implement them in your approach to developing the team. If not, then provide the necessary reason the Fred, who must understand based on the fact that he himself is a former baseball player and understands sports well. Mostly, this discussion will resolve the matter and help attain stability. However, if Fred still persists to behave the way he is behaving now, then you must confront with his daughter, Amy to make him understand and not let her performance be affected by his interference. If Amy agrees, then the matter is resolved and team performance is achieved. However, if she fails to strike the balance between personal and play life, then re-training and a temporary break would help her regain her initial frame of mind.
