1. Answer: Nutrient uptake difference between Gram positive and negative bacteria. Gram positive bacteria have thick peptidoglycan layer whereas gram negative bacteria have thin peptidoglycan. So nutrient uptake efficiency for the gram positive bacteria will be less than the gram negative bacteria. Gram positive bacteria also does not have periplasmic space and there will be no binding proteins for easy uptake of nutrient from the surroundings.
