Answer #1

The key findings of the Boeing failure are as follows:

  • Mistakes began a decade ago when Boeing was caught in developing a new fuel efficient plane that threatened the company's core business.
  • In developing Max,the company not only cutted corners but it touted them as selling point for airlines.Since the Max plane was similar to any other planes but they invested huge amount in pilot training which could have been taught thought an hour of i-pad training.
  • MCAS a new software was blamed for plane crashes but the mistake was of the Federation aviation administration in informing pilots of safety issues.
  • The Federal aviation administration(FAA) was considered incompetent when regulating software and as a policy it allows plane manufacturers to police themselves for safety.
  • Boeing only recommended 30 minute training to their pilots on MCAS rather than additional simulator or classroom instruction.
  • Despite having crashes and flight delays neither Boeing nor FAA believes that they havn't done anything wrong. They believes that the system has a robust and effective way of dealing with safety issues.
