how can animal testing be a counter argument to my own argument which is i think we do need animal testing. TWO PARAGRAPHS PLEASE

• The use of animals to test the safety of certain products and for medical research purposes is immoral, and it should be made a point that the pain and the suffering that are imposed on the animals are just not worth it.
• The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also often ineffective. Animals do not get many of the human diseases that people do, such as major types of heart disease, many types of cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, or schizophrenia.
• Instead, signs of these diseases are artificially induced in animals in laboratories in an attempt to mimic the human disease. Yet, such experiments belittle the complexity of human conditions which are affected by wide-ranging variables such as genetics, socio-economic factors, deeply-rooted psychological issues and different personal experiences.Despite many decades of studying conditions such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, stroke and AIDS in animals, we do not yet have reliable and fully effective cures.Animals do not get many of the diseases we do, such as Parkinson’s disease, major types of heart disease, many types of cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, HIV or schizophrenia.
• Due to the many important differences between monkeys and humans in brain structure and function, data collected from monkeys used in neuroscience research are misleading and of poor relevance to people, our recent analysis found.Despite the use of over 115 million animals in experiments globally each year, only 46 new medicines were approved in 2017 by the leading drug regulator, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Many of these are for rare diseases.
• In the end, we as a society have a choice. Do we treat our fellow creatures with cruelty and callousness? Or with compassion, respect, and justice? As humans, we have the freedom to make that choice. With this freedom comes the moral obligation to make responsible decisions.
• Animals have no such choice. Because they cannot say no, they are completely vulnerable to whatever the researcher has in store for them, no matter how much pain and suffering is involved. Animals are unable to understand or claim their right to be alive, to be free from pain and suffering, and fulfill their biological potential. Therefore, it is up to humans to recognize and protect those rights for them, just as we are morally obligated to protect infants, the developmentally disabled, and the mentally ill.
• It has been said that the moral progress of our society can be measured by the way it treats animals. The exploitation inherent in animal experiments stands in the way of moral progress. Now is the time to extend our sphere of ethical concern to all creatures.
